The Medicis Hotel is a lovely class hotel located in downtown in the "musicians" area of Nice. Central train station and the main avenue of Nice are nearby. The hotel occupies an elegant building built at the 'Belle Epoque' in a neo classical style of the 1920s. It is minutes to fine dining, shopping, and entertainment. The hotel’s staff welcomes guests in a familial and warm atmosphere and is always ready to help with sightseeing advice and various services. All 40 guest rooms are comfortable and well appointed and have air conditioning, sound proofing, TV, direct dial telephone, a hairdryer and a terrace or balcony. There is also an elevator at the hotel. Guests can relax at the hotel’s very own bar and enjoy breakfast at the breakfast room. Breakfast is included in the rate. Safe deposit boxes are available at the reception. |

Sound proofing? even with the windows closed we could hear the noise outside.
We where on the 4th (top) floor and had a terrace, pity there was only 1 chair!
There was a fridge in our room but I don't know when it was last cleaned as it had mould growing inside!
Felt like naughty children coming back into the hotel at night, the door was locked. We are adults and had no children with us so where making the most of Nice night life.
There are some good points....... The room was cleaned everyday and shower gel replenished. Reception Staff where friendly, and as we arrived too early to book in they let us leave suitcase's there while we went out with my nephew who lives in the area.
We did have a good holiday.

On the plus side the staff were very helpful but the plastic chairs on the balcony had not been cleaned for I would estimate years and had ground in dirt. The kitchen area had a fridge which had mould inside. The beds were very narrow and the situation was probably one of the worst parts of Nice-not really what we wanted for a holiday. | | |
| 18.07.2002 Jane O' Flynn (Ireland) I was a little disappointed with my hotel room because on reading the description before my stay I was in the belief that each room had a balcony or terrace as in your description.However our room was on the first floor and had a few inches of terrace. My partner and I had been hoping to sit outside in the evening as we had our son with us and were back to the hotel early.A slight disappointment but everything else was satisfactory. Thank you.
